Bandai
Bandai has been one of the largest toy companies in the world and certainly in Japan, with many subsidiaries like Popy, Banpresto, Unifive and Yutaka. Bandai has licenses with pretty much all the big name TV and movie giants, like Ultraman and Godzilla and of course the Power Rangers - pretty much everything worth anything currently coming out of Japanese media is represented by Bandai.
The Bandai parent-brand did its first jumbo machinder release under the Bandai logo in 1990 with Five Robo, then continued with the Bandai Creations branded Power Rangers figures - however there are some other oversized figures produced that could be argued to be jumbos. This is the list of what I know about with dates - those that I have are linked and in BOLD.
- 1984 BioMan Bio Commodore (partial Jumbo)
- 1990 Five Robo
- 1993 Ryu-Sei-Oh
- 1997 Jumbo Astro Megazord
- 2001 Jumbo Wildforce Megazord
- 2002 Jumbo Isis Megazord
- 2003 Jumbo Storm Megazord
- 2003 Jumbo Thunderstorm Megazord
- 2004 Jumbo Dino Stegazord
- 2004 Jumbo Thundersaurus Megazord
- 2005 Jumbo Delta Max Megazord
- 2006 Jumbo Red Legend Power Ranger
- 2006 Mega Red Power Ranger
- 2010 Mazinger Z (Bandai Neo Machinder 600 mm)
Bandai also released a series of large (500 mm or about 20" tall) vinyl figures from Gundam under the Jumbo Grade line - these came pre-assembled in window boxes (the guns and some other parts/weapons can on sprues to snap-fit for the figures) - these retailed for ¥16,000-¥19,800. While some may not consider the Jumbo Machinders they are often collected by the same fans so I've included them here:
- 2001 RX-78-2 Gundam (there's also a "Gundan" knock-off that's fairly well done)
- 2002 MS-06S Char's Zaku II
- 2002 MS-06F Zaku II
- 2005 RX-78-2 Gundam (Real Type Color)
- 2005 MS-06F Zaku II (Real Type Color)
- 2005 MS-06S Char's Zaku II (Real Type Color)
- 2005 RX-78-2 Gundam (Marking Color)
- 2008 MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam
- 2009 RX-78-2 Gundam (Animation Color)
- 2009 MS-06S Char's Zaku II (Animation Color)
