Bandai Jumbo Astro Megazord

This was the first of the modern Bandai Power Rangers offerings that could be construed as Jumbo Machinder related. It was offered in 1997 as part of the Power Rangers Space toy line. The figure is shorter than the typical JM rounding out at about 20 inches. The robot transforms into a spaceship and back - the robo form can hold an included shield and sword. This particular figure is mostly made of blow-molded plastic so it appeals to those JM collectors looking for the shampoo bottle tactile sensation. It also comes with stickers and is a fine addition to the JM collection. The downside is that it's a bit flimsy and difficult to find in decent condition. My example is a Japanese-release versions (see the sticker in the lower right of the box front).

As JMs go this figure is a bit complicated compared to the traditional Popy items - one reason it's a bit fragile. Note I'm not saying that it's the same quality as a Transformer, but it does do more than your typical JM.
